PREPARE: Four Year Olds
Four Year Old:  “Grasshoppers”

Our four-year old or pre-kindergarten program is an academically focused year of exploration which is built upon the previous three-year-old curriculum. Although Kindergarten readiness is emphasized, students also grow spiritually and continue in their development of learning to regard others through social interaction.

Since this is the year when children begin to understand numbers, our ABeka curriculum includes a math program focusing on number concepts.  For instance, the children learn to count to 100 and write their numbers.

Classroom themes provide a natural springboard for investigating science and social studies. Motor development and sensory integration activities are a focus of each preschool year.  As a four year old, your child is capable of accomplishing increasingly complex tasks, learning, and thinking.

In the four-year-old classroom, the children will learn to write all the letters of the alphabet, and learn the foundations of reading through our Simply Phonics™ program.   At this age, the children will be learning life lessons from the Bible stories they hear, and how to apply the Word of God to their daily lives.

Our pre-kindergarten classrooms will prepare your child to enter Kindergarten ready to learn and ready to succeed.  Our proven curriculum includes theme-based units incorporating language, pre-reading, pre-writing, math, science, social studies, creative arts, motor skills and social development in hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities.

For this age, our ratio is one teacher to twelve children.
The focus of our four year old classroom is preparing each child to enter Kindergarten ready to learn and ready to succeed.
